Training of trainers at the Ecole Supérieure Polytechnique of Senegal
24-25 October 2023 – In conjunction with the public-private policy dialogue on jobs in Senegal organised by ARE with the support of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, CORE held a Training of Trainers workshop at the Ecole Supérieure Polytechnique (ESP) in Dakar, Senegal.
The aim of this training was to support the ESP so that it could train the university’s trainers on solar mini-grids on the following modules:
- Module 1: Technical design and supply of a solar mini-grid system
- Module 2: Installation and commissioning of mini-grid systems
A total of 14 trainers, comprising of researchers, professors, teachers and technicians, were trained. Subsequently, these trainers would go on to train 150 students.
Following this training, a framework partnership agreement is being drawn up between the ESP and the Conseil Patronal des Energies Renouvelables (COPERES).
The aim of this framework agreement is to define the legal framework for establishing an official partnership between the ESP and COPERES with a view to jointly carrying out capacity-building, research and development projects in the fields of renewable energies for the benefit of key players in the sector.
